We currently have 95 charter schools in SC, serving more than 50,000 students. We have three statewide authorizers with 11 additional local-district authorizers.

Family demand for quality educational options is at an all-time high. Charter schools are meeting that call, creating innovative opportunities for academic success, meeting students where they are, and making connections that have otherwise been lost. Charter schools play an important role in the public education ecosystem. These tuition-free public schools are open to all students and have the flexibility to be more creative than traditional public schools to help meet individual needs.
